Madras HC orders Tamil Nadu Government to fill up MBBS seats – Is it a step in the right direction

Please read the following paragraphs to know about certain development that have taken place in Tamil Nadu regarding MBBS admission for NEET based merit list.

Report – 1

Madras High Court’s observation about the teachers in State Board Schools who are unskilled are the reason for the passing percentage being less as reported in Deccan Chronicle can be taken as a valid point for debate and discussion.

Now the Tamil Nadu Government has no other option other than immediately conducting MBBS admission by preparing a merit list as per the NEET results.

This is the order of Madras High Court. Now the Tamil Nadu government may approach the SC against Madras HC verdict.

The TN Government has no other go except to move SC or go ahead with the task of filling up the seats in MBBS courses.

The Madras High Court’s dismissing Tamil Nadu government appeal for 85% reservation for state board students; is a positive development for the good of the majority of the eligible NEET qualified students of Tamil Nadu. More news on NDTV

Enough delay and patience testing must end . Hence, the TN Government must go ahead and follow the single judge’s direction of preparing a fresh list; and finish the conducting of counseling of MBBS admissions in Tamil Nadu on the basis of NEET merit list.

ATBanzara Education’s Opinion:

The TN government within it’s right can approach the SC; but thinking for the larger interest of the NEET qualified students of Tamil Nadu; it is better to go ahead and start the counseling and allot the seat to the deserving and waiting-for-the-counseling candidates.

Hope the TN government is not contemplating to move to Supreme Court.
