The 2 new medical colleges in Himachal Pradesh getting permission from Medical Council of India is great news, but only for the MBBS aspirants of this apple state of India.
Thus adding another 200 MBBS seats to the existing 450 seats. Hence, increases the total seats to 650.
The new medical colleges are:
- Pt Jawahar Lal government medical college Chamba HP
- Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College Mandi HP
Pt Jawaharlal Government Medical College’s 100 seats for the year 2017 having distribution; for state quota 72 seats, NRI quota 13 MBBS seats, and central quota 15 seats.
Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College’s 100 seats to have distribution; for state quota 63 MBBS seats, NRI quota 2 seats, central quota 15 seats, and ESI quota 20 seats.
Both medical colleges are having government management and affiliation to Himachal Pradesh University.
NEET qualified MBBS aspirants can apply to the 2 New Medical Colleges in Himachal Pradesh
Hence NEET qualified MBBS aspirants of Himachal Pradesh may apply to Directorate Medical Education of Himachal Pradesh.
However, there will a call for counseling only to the merit list candidates.
The government fee will be Rs 60000 for the first year; and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th years the fee is Rs 50000 each year.
The permission of Medical Council of India; to the above government medical colleges is to take admission in MBBS course for eligible NEET qualified candidates; but only through centralized counseling for the quota of seats; whether it is state-quota, NRI quota, management quota, central pool quota and esi quota.
In the future, the government of Himachal Pradesh plans to have an autonomous medical university.
When this takes place the affiliation of the above colleges will shift from H P University to the medical university.
