Bravo! Keep one seat for the differently able candidate.
This is tremendous news to the candidate and also to us all.
We are proud of the verdict.
We want more of such brave MBBS aspirants to study medical course.
The courage of Ms A Madhumathi along with the confidence; to say she is capable of doing certain specialized courses in Post Graduation with 55% upper limb disability.
She represents many of such differently able candidates for studying MBBS.
The petition moved by Ms A Madhumathi; and the verdict in her favour, technically removes the ban on MBBS admission for candidates with upper limb disability.
Earlier the petitoner moved that the ban is irrational, arbitrary and discriminatory and violative Article 14 of the Constitution.
Hopefully certain PG courses in microbiology, pathology, pharmacology and community medicines can be done.
This is great news differently able MBBS aspirants.
Hence keeping one seat for the differently able candidate is a step in the progressive direction.
